Orissa is now standing near a cross road of environental challenges, Bio-Diversity and Climate change; this is clearly visible in its changing pattern of Animal world. Dated 26.2.2009. Samaja. Injured deer saved in Nuagarh. Some deers are living in Khuntapada Forest near Nuagarh village (Telkol block) and often and on these deers enter the village and face danger from Dogs or other. This baby deer also entered the village and attacked by dogs; villagers saved it, afterwards Range Officer and Forester reached the place and transfered it to Range office. Villagers want a Deer park to be established there.

In three panchayats of Jeypore district Industrial pollution has started to affect birds population, particularly the crows. Earlier the crow population was high in Umuri, Dhanpur and Kaligam Panchayat; but with the increasing number of Industry--now there are about 30 industries of paper, cashew nut processing, and cement in the panchayats--number of crows is declining.
